The History Of Sunbelt

FOUNDING & DEVELOPMENT PERIOD

Where it Began

Our journey began in Garland Texas with Amtex Corporation. The goal was to bring fast, cost-effective building solutions through innovative modular technology. At the time, modular construction was still emerging and often misunderstood—many associated the term “modular” only with jobsite trailers, rather than the broader, transformative possibilities it represents today.

2004

EXPANSION THROUGH ACQUISITION

Building the Sunbelt Family

In 2006, Amtex Corp expanded its reach by acquiring Indicom Buildings in Burleson, Texas and officially establishing the original Sunbelt Modular family of companies.

2006

EXPANSION THROUGH ACQUISITION

Building the Sunbelt Family

With the acquisitions of Phoenix Modular and MR Steel in Phoenix, AZ, Sunbelt Modular positioned itself as a significant regional player.

2007-08

EXPANDING REGIONAL PRESENCE

Southeastern Expansion

In 2020, Sunbelt Modular expanded into the Southeast, welcoming several new businesses into its growing family. ProMod Manufacturing in Ellaville, GA, Southeast Modular in Leesburg, FL, and Specialized Structures in Willacoochee, GA each joined that year, strengthening Sunbelt Modular’s presence and capabilities across the region.

2020

STRENGTHENING A COAST-TO-COAST NETWORK

National Expansion

From 2023 to the present, Sunbelt Modular has continued its rapid growth, adding several well-established businesses to its family of companies. ProBox Manufacturing in Ellaville, GA joined in 2023, followed by C&B Custom Modular in Bristol, IN and Northwest Building Systems in Boise, ID in 2024. The momentum accelerated in 2025 with the addition of Britco Structures in Teague, TX and four Whitley Manufacturing divisions across the country: South Whitley, IN; Leola, PA; Marysville, WA; and Rochester, IN. These acquisitions have strengthened Sunbelt Modular’s footprint nationwide, bringing even greater expertise and capacity to serve clients in diverse industries.

Today, Sunbelt Modular stands as a national leader in modular construction, combining decades of proven experience with an ever-expanding network of trusted companies. As the future of building continues to evolve, Sunbelt Modular is committed to delivering innovative, efficient, and high-quality solutions across the United States.
