case study summary
During the initial project, the school required a new building that was cost conscious and could quickly replace their existing facility. Their growth plans called for future expansion and the building was designed with the flexibility to easily accommodate this.
The initial project occurred over summer recess. In the fall, the students returned to to class in a state-of-the-art 18,000 square foot facility. As the schools’ growth continued on schedule, they soon took advantage of their building’s flexible design. A second story was constructed off-site and when spring recess arrived, the project effectively doubled the size of the school building.
This seamless vertical expansion demonstrated the long-term value of modular construction. By planning for growth from the outset, the school minimized future disruption, avoided costly temporary relocations, and maintained uninterrupted academic operations. The result is a scalable campus solution that continues to support enrollment increases while preserving schedule certainty and budget control.
A two-phase modular campus designed to support long-term growth while maintaining academic continuity. Delivered on an accelerated schedule, the French-American School project demonstrates how forwardthinking design and off-site construction can create a scalable, high-performance educational environment with minimal disruption.
